AppFog Ensures Customers Avoid Vendor Lock-in, Provides One-Click Migration Between Vendors

SAN FRANCISCO--(EON: Enhanced Online News)--AppFog, the leading cloud Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) for developers who use multiple cloud platforms, today announced they are empowering a new generation of developers with multi-language PaaS allowing users to avoid vendor lock-in while deploying and scaling their applications economically.

AppFog’s PaaS technology now allows developers to seamlessly migrate their applications between cloud providers or move to on-premise with no code changes, eliminating the concern of vendor lock-in.

“For the past several years, I have been bullish on PaaS as the future of cloud services,” said Krishnan Subramanian, principal analyst at Rishidot Research. “If cloud is about abstracting away complexity, it only makes sense to go up one layer above infrastructure and abstract away all the complexity underneath the application development platform. However, when choosing a PaaS solution, it is important to ensure that the users are not locked into any particular infrastructure so they can move their application and data anywhere they want.”

Avoiding Vendor Lock-in

The AppFog PaaS supports Azure, AWS, HP Cloud and more, so that deploying and moving apps between cloud vendors has never been easier.
